I have been a gamer throughout my life and gaming itself is not harmful to mental health, but unless you become an addict.

what gaming effects

Currently, gaming has become a culture for some people and anytime a new game is released, everyone seeks to have a look at it. Games do not appear to damage the mental health of their players but contain lessons that may sound positive and also negative.

Take, for instance, there are groups with the aim of playing games for fun or feel like playing, with others in a lobby. This doesn’t mean you would be affected with any mental disorder or anything as such but there is a strong positive benefit from gaming.

Research has proven that video games boost children’s learning, social skills, and creativity, provide great multi-tasking abilities, and make accurate decisions and good eyesight. It is also a form to reduce stress and depression.

Though gaming has positive benefits, spending lots of time on gaming can promote poor health in terms of periods of sleep, exhaustion, aggression, lack of motivation, and change in character.

So in conclusion, becoming an addict can seriously cause mental disorders.
